Strategy, Governance & Risk

Practical support to strengthen governance, align strategy, manage risk, and improve decision-making, delivery confidence, and organisational performance.

What this service covers
Ecosynergy supports councils to strengthen governance frameworks, improve strategic alignment, and embed practical risk management approaches that support confident decision-making and sustainable performance.
Support is tailored to local government operating environments and can extend across policy, planning, assurance, risk, reporting, delegations, and organisational improvement priorities.
How Ecosynergy helps

Strengthening governance arrangements, decision-making frameworks, delegations, policy settings, and accountability structures to improve clarity, consistency, and organisational confidence.
Strategic alignment and performance focus
Aligning corporate priorities, operational planning, budget settings, and reporting so organisational effort is directed where it matters most and value delivery is more visible.
Procurement and grants uplift
Improving procurement and grants capability where these intersect with governance, risk, planning, controls, compliance, and delivery effectiveness.
Implementation and change support
Supporting practical implementation, adoption, engagement, and change so improved systems and approaches become embedded rather than remaining theoretical.

How we engage
Retainer-based support
Ongoing support packages can be structured around approximately 5–20 hours per week, or tailored to suit council need, helping meet capacity and capability gaps as and when required. This model is particularly effective where councils need continuity, responsive advice, prequalified supplier access, and practical implementation support over time.
Project-based engagement
Targeted support can also be scoped as a defined assignment for specific governance reviews, strategy development, diagnostics, risk uplift, procurement and grants improvement, or implementation-focused projects where clear outputs, timeframes, and responsibilities are needed.
